Not sure where you heard otherwise, but if it's from one of my sites I should probably update that! Currently aiming for the first half of 2019 and trying my best to hit that, but we all know how bad I am at estimating things.
The final game will indeed have a lot more to it than the beta you've played, both in terms of level quantity and variety, as well as some neat ways to replay levels. I agree that games with this structure tend to lack replay value so I'm trying some ideas that should hopefully help with that and give more of a reason to keep jumping back into it. Some basic ideas including leaderboards, hidden collectibles, and special medals for beating levels without being seen, and some bigger ideas like unlockable cheats to add some wacky fun to replaying a level and a side mode inspired by New Super Mario Bros. 2's Coin Rush, where you play through a handful of randomly selected levels with the addition of special challenges you can pick for extra coins, like don't get seen, only get one life, no items allowed, etc.
I have other ideas I'd like to get in too if I have the time, but hopefully all this will help inject some of that precious replay value! Let me know if you can think of something else that would entice you personally to keep playing. Not sure if I can stuff in multiple endings at this point, but for smaller ideas I'm all ears!
